About <[IFOC]>
<[IFOC]> was originally founded by "75" in the early 2010s. It was not a formal competitive DOOM clan, but rather a place for fans of Chex Quest to talk and mod, and was the launchpad for a 24/7 hosting service for Chex Quest mods to be played online. It eventually expanded in scope to include several other DOOM mods and games, as well. It was around 2012 when I ("Acts 19 quiz") joined.
Included as part of this expansion was an interested in getting into competitive CTF. This was mainly through modding and making maps. As it happened, 75's maps didn't take off or make it into competitive CTF. 75's Chex Pack project eventually saw the first (and so far only) set of CTF maps for Chex Quest (which <[IFOC]> hosts to this day). Though this left one goal for <[IFOC]>– a competitive presence through either competitively-played maps or active competition–unfinished.
Many years later, in June(-ish) 2024 after I became the de facto administrator of <[IFOC]> (and officially in 2025), I fell into the rabbit hole of competitive CTF, including WDL/Odamex and shortly thereafter Rampage/Zandronum. After signing up for a few tournaments, an opportunity was presented in February 2026 for <[IFOC]> to field a team in a new minor league for Rampage CTF, called the "Exhibition League". It was here that <[IFOC]> would make its formal initial foray into competitive CTF, fielding its first competitive DOOM team under the "IFS" banner: Intergalactic Federation of Snacks (a rephrasing of "Intergalactic Federation of Cereals" from Chex Quest HD).
Our motley crew included semi-retired people looking to get back into action, newcomers, and former league veterans and champions who fell in the primary league because there's just too much talent in upper echelon competitive DOOM.
After a long- and hard-fought competitive league that saw the regular season come down to IFS securing post-season #1 seeding via a tiebreaker, IFC secured its first competitive championship! There are several individual I wish to express my gratitude to for this historic event (IFOC/IFS's first competitive championship, and the first Rampage Exhibition League held):
- The Rampage commissioners, EXWiz4rd, Nexus, and Stall, for making the first ever Rampage CTF 'minor league' to give an opportunity for new players to come, play, grow, and gain valuable experience. This wouldn't have been possible without them.
- The competitors we faced, including BEAST3, DoomJoshuaBoy, Killer007, Kurt, and Wileman. We wish to congratulate them on hard-fought and well-played games, without whom this league would have also been impossible.
- 75, who founded <[IFOC]>, and I at least partially fought vicariously for.
- Last, but most assuredly not least, my sincere thanks, gratitude, and drive for winning goes to the initial draft members of IFS (representing five countries):
